Position Overview:
The Health Improvement Manager supports grant and contract-funded work focused on maternal-infant health, chronic disease, patient and family engagement, health equity and population health tenets.
This position works closely with the Director of Clinical Quality and the Director of Quality Measurement and Population Health to manage and coordinate the completion of identified scopes of work that include health education programming, partner engagement, data collection, program evaluation and grant management.
This role will work closely with Missouri hospitals and health care system components throughout the state.
The position is funded entirely through federal or state contracts and grants.
The continuation of this position is dependent on renewals of these or other contracts.
Essential Functions:
Assist the Director of Clinical Quality and the Director of Quality Measurement and Population Health in managing and coordinating grants and contracts supporting the Missouri Perinatal Quality Collaborative and population health.
Serve as the primary member contact for assigned projects and programs and provide technical assistance to assist participants with program objectives.
Support calendar management for program-related meetings and events, broad communications and internal team management, including travel arrangements and expense reports.
Use Microsoft Office 365 applications to support program management and coordination.
Regularly perform data processing duties, including collection, editing, processing and data reporting.
Prepare and maintain documentation for program engagement, project reports and compliance documents.
Assist in providing training on using the Life QI web portal for project data collection and work closely with the Life QI contractor to maintain, update and manage the portal.
Coordinate with departments across MHA to fulfill accounting, education and communication workflows.
Manage relationships with assigned hospital members and community-based organizations to meet contract deliverables and provide identified technical and adaptive support.
Maintain processes, ensuring compliance with protected health information under HIPAA guidelines.
Marginal Functions:
Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Clinical Quality, Director of Quality Measurement and Population Health, Vice President of Clinical Quality Improvement and Senior Vice President of Quality, Safety and Research.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
A minimum of an associate's degree in a health or related field of study is required.
Experience in contract/grant management and implementation of grant/contract-funded scopes of work preferred.
Demonstrate effective and professional communication skills.
Must have experience and demonstrate a high comfort level in simultaneously participating in meetings and managing multiple complex projects.
Establish rapport with people of all educational levels and professional backgrounds.
Support diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging principles.
Work well with others in identifying problems, evaluating alternatives and preparing corrective courses of action.
Work efficiently and effectively in a highly collaborative, team-based environment.
Must possess exceptional project management and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze and explain quantitative and qualitative data.
Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products and have strong writing skills.
Work independently without close supervision.

Physical Demands:
Lift and move items up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to work on the computer for hours at a time and concentrate on detailed information.
Bend, kneel and reach items with use of hands/fingers, as well as be able to handle or feel objects, tools, and controls.
Must be able to speak and listen effectively.
Vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Infrequent travel may be required.
