Duties are to include the management of daily operations within the Technical Services Department overseeing staff.
Will select, train, schedule and evaluate staff.
Catalog and classify new materials using library software.
Performs original and copy cataloging in accordance with professional standards.
Will work a public desk as assigned.
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in library management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Library Science Strong knowledge of library cataloging systems, and file management Two years cataloging experience required Two years supervisory experience required Proficiency in integrated library systems and software troubleshooting Excellent customer service skills with the ability to assist patrons of all ages Strong organization skills with attention to detail Ability to type accurately and efficiently for data entry purposes Familiarity with research methods and resources Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
