The Campus Security Position will be a position within the Lincoln University Police Department which emphasizes safety, security of residents, buildings and provides services to students during night time hours.
The Campus Security will function as a responsible team member with the Residential Life staff, Police Department and community.
Promote Safety / Security on property owned and operated by the university.
The Campus Security will be assigned to working the lobby area of the residence halls during evening hours.
They will oversee residence hall access by checking resident's identification and registering their guest.
Night watchman will patrol residential hall areas as assigned.
They will ensure that all exterior doors are closed and secured.
The Campus Security will report damage to property, drug use and any other concerns that may arise.
They will serve as the eyes and ears of the department.
They will maintain a high visibility presence and notify officers of any illegal and inappropriate actions.
The ideal candidate will be a retired or former law enforcement officer, military or security with equivalent training.
Responsibilities:
Protect the university's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences Report in detail any suspicious incidents Patrol randomly or regularly building Monitor and control access at building entrances Perform first aid or CPR Maintain a professional, courteous, and polite demeanor Enforce the rules and regulations established by the university and the residence halls according to the policies and procedures Maintain a front door security station as assigned and according to policies and procedures Be familiar with and carry out emergency evacuation procedures, in coordination with other staff Assist with emergency situations that may happen during work hours.
Perform any additional duties assigned by Lincoln University Police Department and Staff Maintain and adhere to work schedule developed by supervisor.
Attend In-Hall staff meetings Attend the required training workshop sessions prior to beginning work and scheduled in service training throughout the year.
Requirements Able pass state background check Strong working knowledge of security operations, safety practices.
Excellent surveillance and observation skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Physically able to conduct foot patrols on uneven surfaces, slick or wet surfaces, stairs, rough terrain, and in all weather conditions TO APPLY:
