The team shall work together to provide exceptional customer service, while comforting families during every aspect of the time at Cemetery.
Purpose of Job:
To keep the grounds and equipment at Cemetery in a clean and presentable atmosphere for the families that come to visit our facility.
The Laborer reports to the Cemetery Operating Manager or Cemetery Superintendent.
Qualifications:
Work at all times to maintain the image of Cemetery as a positive one in the public view Must be able to fulfill responsibilities with high standards in customer service.
Maintain a professional and personable appearance and presence.
Able to work in all types of weather conditions.
Must be able to use and do required maintenance to backhoe, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, weed eaters and other equipment owned by Cemetery.
Be able to lift 10 pounds.
Valid driver's license Must be highly organized with attention to detail.
Task and
Responsibilities:
Maintain the grounds at Cemetery to ensure the grass is mowed and all trash is picked up so that the grounds look neat and clean for the public.
Check every morning that the front entrance and front sidewalks are clean and tidy.
Clear snow throughout the cemetery as needed.
Assist in the opening and closing of grave spaces and setting vaults.
Use of lawn mowers, leaf blowers and weed eaters to ensure that the grass is mowed and neat in appearance.
Assist in the completion work orders for the setting of grave bases and stones; vases; opening and closing of graves; setting of vaults; backfilling grave spaces, etc.
Become familiar with the different gardens within in Cemetery Assist visitors to the Gardens by answering any questions they may have, assist in locating their loved ones or directing them to the office for appropriate assistance.
Keep the garage and outside storage areas clean and neat.
Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and ready for use for appropriate staff.
Be courteous with funeral directors, bereaves families and visitors to the cemetery.
Report all accidents, injuries, damage to equipment and/or property, equipment malfunctions etc to Cemetery Operating Manager.
Cell phone is allowed in the cemetery while working, if at any time, the cell phone becomes a distraction from work you will be asked to keep your cell phone in a locker in the back garage.
