ARMY TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
This position is located at the Combined Support Maintenance Shop in Jefferson City, MO United States 1 vacancy
Incumbent will be assigned to Position Description Number D1220000 in SPMD 6021
APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is a Permanent Excepted Service position. This is a bargaining unit position.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED: This is an Excepted position that requires active membership in a compatible skill in the Missouri Army National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate enlistment or appointment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS qualified within 12 months from date of appointment.

Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).
IMPORTANT NOTES: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances are not authorized for this position. Required Security Clearance is Noncritical Sensitive.
Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.

Performs complicated skilled trades tasks in any Allied Trades Shops. Operates various welding equipment to include wire welders, torches, stick welders, plasma cutters to perform minor welding tasks following accepted shop practices. Uses jigs and fixtures in clamping pieces together to assemble and set up the part to be welded. Straightens, knocks out dents and creases, sands and finishes damaged parts. Paints a wide variety of vehicles using standard methods such as brushing, rolling, and spraying by the use of coating materials that are prepared according to directions, and by the application of coating techniques that assure surface is fully coated, protected, and free from drips and runs. Modifies, repairs and makes canvas parts such as truck tarpaulin, machinery and equipment covers. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience:_ Must have 12 months of specialized experience which demonstrates skill in setting up various electric resistant welding machines or use one or more manual welding processes; skill in using and setting up machinist equipment to perform less complicated tasks; knowledge of metals used and how various parts are bolted, soldered, riveted, or welded; knowledge of how to prepare surfaces for painting, and apply coating so that it will adhere to the surface and be free from skips, runs, and drips; ability to interpret drawings and blueprints; skill in making major repairs in fabric and operating industrial type sewing machines; and skill and knowledge to operate a variety of hand, power tools, and devices to cut, fit, join, fabricate, and install wooden parts.

Experience:_ Experience, education or training which demonstrates you have enough knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventive maintenance tasks, and are able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
