HISTORIAN (TITLE 32)
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
ENLISTED Since the position is temporary in nature, the compatibility requirements will be waived for a period of time not to exceed one year. Selecting official must verify that selected individual is currently assigned to a military unit in the Missouri National Guard and that the selection does not create grade inversion. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a degree in history or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history. OR - Must possess a combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history, plus appropriate experience or additional education. GS-09 SPECIALIZED
Experience:
In addition to meeting the basic qualification requirements above, must possess 24 months of specialized experience, education or training that provided knowledge of established historical research methods and techniques, to include collection, evaluation, and analysis of historical facts; ability to locate, obtain, analyze, evaluate and organize historical materials; manage the historical materials; and coordinate their long-term storage in a public access facility. The specialized experience must also indicate the ability to conduct comprehensive evaluations and making presentations; prepare reports and other written communication; skill with problem solving; and knowledge of the National Guard history and operational capabilities. GS-07 SPECIALIZED
Experience:
In addition to meeting the basic qualification requirements above, must possess 12 months specialized experience, education or training that provided knowledge of established historical research methods and techniques, to include collection, evaluation, and analysis of historical facts; and experience in expository writing and citing sources.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
